Embodiment

Embodiment is the idea of being fully present and aware of your physical body including your emotions and sensations.  This idea creates deeper connection to your physical body rather than viewing it as an object to control or manipulate.

Embodiment practices involve movement, mindfulness and body awareness.  These practices help you tune into your internal signals, allowing you to truly hear what your body is saying.

Receiving massage and bodywork is one way to help you connect with your body and become more aware of your physical sensations and needs. This is one way to take care of your body as it is here and now without trying to change it!

Blending Intuitive Eating And Functional Nutrition

Intuitive eating is a big part of embodiment. Intuitive eating is an approach to nutrition that involves listening to and honoring your own internal cues for hunger, fullness and satisfaction.  Rather than focusing on external messages and diet rules, intuitive eating encourages you to become more attuned to your food desires and nutrition needs.

It’s important to note, that this doesn’t mean that you completely ignore the nutritional value of foods. Intuitive eating recognizes the innate wisdom of the body that helps to guide you toward the foods that are most nourishing for you.

As a dietitian, I will walk alongside you to help you pay attention to how different foods make you feel and help you to adjust your food choices accordingly. My hope is that you start to find enjoyment in eating again.
